The Rozhkov plant is an evergreen shrubby tree that spreads in the Mediterranean regions. Its fruits resemble seed pods, which are edible, which is why it is grown. It grows well in places with warm to temperate climates, tolerating hot and humid coastal areas and drought.

Locust is a characteristic plant for Portugal, Spain and the Italian islands of Sicily and Sardinia. The Rozhkov tree bears fruit after the sixth year of development, and the number of fruits increases with each passing year.

Rozhkov fruits were used as a sweetener even before sugar cane and sugar beet were known. Today, these wonderful fruits are also used in cosmetics, tobacco processing, paper production and more. Rozhkov flour is most widespread in confectionery, as a more natural and healthy product. It tastes better when mixed with raw cocoa.

Carob contains a large amount of calcium (three times more than cocoa), magnesium, potassium, trace elements: iron, copper, nickel, manganese and chromium, as well as vitamins: B1, B2 and A.

It has a significant therapeutic effect in diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal disorders and others.
